Description

With the next release, Kodi 18, the RetroPlayer will be integrated. Kodi adds the feautre to play games. For controlling the games, Kodi supports multiple hardware game controllers.

However, we currently discuss to add 'virtual controllers', so playing games on Kodi while controlling it from a mobile phone. garbear, the main Kodi developer behind the RetroPlayer integration would extend the JSON RPC to support virtual game controllers if there is a client which is willing to use the API.

Therefore:
Is Yatse willing to add a virtual game controller to its remote, which would allow playing games on Kodi while controlling it with yatse?

If you, tolriq, would implement this API in yatse if it is available, could you please leave a comment here: https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=302945
Please feel also free to join our discussion about that feature and the best way to implement it.

Thanks!

Well getting into that thread got me a permanent ban.

Martijn is still the biggest fucking asshole he has always been. Too bad that impacts users a lot, as lot of things broken are due to his stupidity.

Anyway as you can see there won't be support for that in Yatse in short term. They will continue to try to copy Yatse in the official app but will continue to not giving a shit about users needs, if one done they add something that works I'll look into it, but you should seriously not have hope that they'll do anything.

I noticed that. I'm sorry for that! I don't see a reason for a ban...

Well, I hope the kodi thread comes back to the topic. In my eyes such a forum is not the right place for personal conflicts. I don't support your ban. As far as I understand, garbear is still on topic.
Regarding 'copy Yatse in the official app': I think it is legal to develop kore, and since the apps are not equal, there might be reasons for both. I prefer yatse, but I understand if others like kore. But I have to say that I do not know anything of the history of the conflict.

Back to topic: As I understood your answer - If Kodi somehow supports controllers (ES, JSON-RPC, ...) you are willing to integrate it in Yatse. Thanks!

Well Yatse is 6 years old ;) Kore did copy 90% of Yatse when it started as a competitor app.

The app did not work so well, and Martijn saws an opportunity to try to kill Yatse and ask the author of the app to give the app to Kodi team.

I have no problem with Kore by itself, but they should start to innovate instead of copying, strangely when I look at Kore repo I see they start to move to something new. (But this new is what Yatse did a Year ago to separate the original from the copy, that now copy more).

Anyway, you may want to search Kodi forums about my history there and what I did contribute to Kodi and how Martijn treats people. It's a long story but you'll learn that stupidity have really no limits.

There's no reason for a ban just a God complex from Martijn that hates me at a point that you can't imagine.

For the rest well yes I'll see if I can integrate, but without any way of communicating it will be nearly impossible. Only solution now is that someone else does all the work and fix all the issues then something could be done.
